The St. John's cross country team got its 2014 campaign underway on Sunday morning, hosting a number of local teams for the SJU-Hofstra Fall XC Festival on the University's pristine Oakdale, N.Y., campus. The Red Storm enjoyed a handful of standout performances, including an impressive winning individual effort from freshman Izzi Batt-Doyle and a third-place overall finish from junior Stephanie Van Pelt reached in a personal-best time.
